For years buildings and other structural constructions have been a way of showing power and mighty. For thousands of years the great pyramids of Egypt have not only been the tallest structures made by man in Africa but also in the rest of the world.  Some of that glory might seem lost but with so many proposed constructions in Africa such as Al Noor Tower in Casablanca, morocco and iconic tower in Cairo Egypt. Africa might ones again retake its position as the continent that holds the tallest structure on the world. But at the moment these are the tallest structures that we have.

The construction of this building was started in 1983 and completed in 1985. Located in the city of Durban in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. Since its construction it has held the status of the tallest building in Durban. Its design was first presented in a competition in Kentucky USA.

The only building out of South Africa in the top three positions. This tower was officially opened in 2017. The tower is owed by the British American investment company.

Its construction ended in 1973, since then it has held the title of the tallest building in Africa. Designed by Skidmore,Owings and Merril. Anglo American Properties, its construction started in late 1967.  Not too much was put in its aesthetic value but rather to its structural strength. Although not beautiful to behold it’s a marvel and wonder that shows the strength and abilities of Africa.

(BONUS) The Pinnacle Towers Kenya.

The pinnacle tower is set to be the tallest building in Africa by 2020. Construction is underway in Kenya and the tower is set to reach a height of 370 meters
