StarTimes Kenya and the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) have agreed a partnership to provide interactive educational content to primary and secondary school pupils. The KICD is enhancing the coverage of interactive radio and television lessons through online platforms, at a time when the country is battling the spread and effects of coronavirus, which has forced schools to close temporarily.
KICD Council Chairperson Sara Ruto welcomed the partnership, acknowledging that the institute has an enormous task that needs consolidated efforts to make sure that teaching goes on and every child is benefitting.
StarTimes Kenya will provide access to a KICD-approved curriculum on its digital television platform, including the mobile application StarTimes ON, as well as other self-produced TV channels. The partnership will complement the radio and EDU TV education content with material now available on the StarTimes ON mobile application, which is available on Google Play or Apple App Store.
