Algeria Company Registration Procedures

Algeria company registration procedures will take more than two weeks and involve a number of pre and post-registration steps.

  1. Open a Bank Account and Deposit Money

Applicants need to open a bank account and obtain a deposit certificate after doing so. This will take 1 day and is free of charge.

  1. Verify the Availability of the Company Name

Applicants can do this at the Centre National du Commerce (CNRC) or the Commercial Registry. The applicant can propose 4 company names and after the name has been checked and approved, the issuance of the certificate will be on the same day.

  1. Visit the Notary’s Office

Applicants need to complete the following procedures with a notary at the Notary Office:

  • Notarize the company’s constitution documents,
  • Submit specimen(s) of managers’ signatures,
  • Prepare and submit the lease for the registered company office

Notary fees will be charged based on the amount of capital the company has.

  1. Register the Company

Applicant companies can register the company with the Commercial Registry either online or in person, although it is more common and arguably faster to apply in person.

Although there is a regulation that requires the Commercial Registry to process a company’s registration within 1 day, in practice, it still takes 2 days to obtain the final registration certificate. Registration fees are also based on the amount of capital a company has.

  1. Register for Income, Corporate Tax and Vat With the Local Tax Office

Applicants will have to register for income tax, corporate tax, and VAT at the local tax office. Upon registration, a certificate of existence can obtain within 2 to 5 days and a tax card (magnetic card) will also be provided within a minimum period of 30 days.
