In October 2001, we obeyed the Lord’s calling to go to Kenya as missionaries. For 4 years, we served in the public education sector in Nairobi. Through teaching bible studies, discipling the children and forming a school choir, we saw the importance of youth ministry in Kenya.
Our time in Nairobi also served to acclimate to Kenyan culture, and learn about the influence Islam has within the country through education. Through this knowledge, the Lord shaped our strategy for our mission in Kenya, and led us to Kwale County (near Mombasa) in November 2005.
In early 2006, we were able to purchase land in Matuga. This region is predominantly occupied by the Digo tribe, which is over 90% Muslim. On this property we started building Bethany Mission Centre
Currently, Bethany Mission Centre has grown to include a church, a school, and a dispensary.
